I went into hospital a week ago last Thursday to have a long-overdue health check. My blood results were disastrous. I wasn't even halfway back home when they called in a total panic and said I had to come back first thing the next morning for new Antabuse implants, which will hopefully prevent me drinking.

I was meant to have the pellets implanted the following Monday, but it wasn't worth the risk of waiting, considering how bad things were.

Apparently, one of the test indicators was meant to read 48. Mine was off the chart at 2,860.

I had the new set of Antabuse pellets sewn into my stomach the next day.
