Young people can identify with St. Maximilian, says Brian Hanson.
"He was a mischief maker. He was very fascinated with rocket science," said Hanson, director of the Soldiers of St. Maximilian Kolbe Boys Club. "He shared all those fun things they're interested in."
The local boys group is sponsoring a theatrical production of "Maximilian: Saint of Auschwitz" Wednesday at the Landmark Theatre, Syracuse. The year-old group of about 60 boys ages 5 to 15 meets weekly at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart. It is affiliated with an international organization of Catholic boys clubs.
