DEPRESSED Scots are popping more anti-depressants than ever before. Last year, doctors doled out three million prescriptions for pills such as Prozac almost three times the number they did a decade ago.
The bill for happy pills jumped from pounds 12 million to pounds 55 million in the same period.
And recent statistics showed Scots spent 40 per cent more per head on antidepressants than people south of the border.
Figures show the NHS Scotland spends pounds 6 per head on new-style drugs ...
