Just when it seemed the drama surrounding the collapse of Cleveland law firm Arter & Hadden LLP had subsided, the story has taken another twist.
Four Arter & Hadden retirees this month filed an involuntary Chapter 7 bankruptcy petition against the firm in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Cleveland. The goal of the Chapter 7 filing is to recoup what the retirees say are unpaid retirement benefits.
"All four of my clients are retired lawyers from Arter & Hadden or firms it acquired,'' said Robert Bernstein, an attorney with the Bernstein Law Firm in Pittsburgh who represents the retirees.
