Window-maker Andersen Corp. plans to build a plant and create 135 jobs in North Branch as part of a new statewide rural economic development plan, Gov. Tim Pawlenty announced Monday at the Capitol.
Of those jobs, 95 will be new to the state. The other 40 will move from Andersen's small White Bear Lake extrusion facility, which will close. The White Bear Lake workers will be offered transfers.
The new extrusion plant will create vinyl and other composite moldings for Andersen windows and doors, which are sold worldwide.
