THE rail company granted pounds 100m- a year in public subsidies to run Welsh train services last night snubbed North Wales.
Private transport operator Arriva will receive pounds 1.63bn to oversee the new Wales and Borders franchise for the next 15 years.
But announcing their spending plans yesterday, the rail operators didn't commit a single penny to improving safety at North Wales stations.
Company chiefs promised more trains,an integrated rail/bus ticketing system and safer and more punctual services.
