CHESHIRE, Conn.-Nearly two years after sculpture manufacturer Bovano of Cheshire purchased the Winifred Cole Co., Bovano is bringing to market fresh designs under the label.
Bovano purchased the 25 sculpture designs, equipment, customer lists and rights to the well-known name Winifred Cole, then moved the production from California to its facility here, where craftsmen create the ceramic florals individually by hand.
"It's taken us time to get up and running," said Jim Flood, president of the privately held, 50-year-old manufacturer. "Winifred had three-month lead times at the end, and now we're shipping in five days," he said. Bovano has also expanded ...
