Article: Grievance group gears up for year-long examination.

A massive, year-long review of the Bar's discipline process kicked off September 5 with a review of the current system, comments by participants on what they want to explore, and a request for detailed information by those who have been involved in the system.

"We're not having this study because there are problems with the system," Bar President Miles McGrane told the Special Committee to Review Lawyer Discipline.

"The reason is the last time this study was done was in 1989. Your charge is very vague, to study the efficacy of the discipline system and come back with recommendations. It was purposely vague because we don't know where this study will go," ...
