The Air Force Academy sexual assault scandal apparently has not discouraged women from seeking congressional appointments to the school, new numbers suggest.
Statistics released by members of the state's congressional delegation show the percentage of female applicants seeking appointments to the academy in Colorado Springs - rather than other service academies - held steady in 2003. There was a slight drop among men.
Many applications to the nation's service academies are made through the 535 congressional offices, so the Colorado delegation numbers provide only a snapshot. It won't be ...
