All three pistols were Ransom-rest tested at 50 yards with two handloads and three factory match loads. The first handload was 4.7 grs. of WST under a 185 gr. Nosier JHP; the second load was 4.2 grs. of WST under a .451" H&G weighed bullet, third was a Western factory match load with a 230 grain bullet; fourth was Remington Factory 185 gr. SWC match and fifth was Federal Factory match 185 gr SWC. Each pistol was shot with the same ammunition in the order listed above. The results were surprising to say the least.
The Springfield shot the following 50 yard groups: 5.25", 8.75", 6.33", 5.33" and 4.87". The Kimber shot as follows: 5.87", 2.50", 5.81", 5.50" and ...
