OSAKA, Oct 27 Asia Pulse - In an effort to address growing demand, Sharp Corp. (TSE:6753) will double output capacity for LCD (liquid crystal display) televisions to 40,000 units a month at its European production base in Spain as early as next April.

Sharp's production subsidiary in Barcelona now imports liquid crystal panels and other parts from Japan to assemble 13- to 30-inch LCD TVs for the European market. Seeking to increase output capacity for LCD TVs at the subsidiary's factory, Sharp will expand clean rooms and shift personnel.
