NORFOLK -- Just as they're leaving town, the Norfolk Admirals are back.
Back after one of their worst performances ever in a midweek laugher against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Back to their hustling, scrapping style. Back in a 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Phantoms on Saturday night at Scope.
The game's nail-biting finish had many in an announced crowd of 3,947 standing as the Phantoms buzzed around the Norfolk net in the final minute. But goaltender Craig Anderson (3-1) thwarted his club's archrivals, and the Admirals now embark on a 17-day, 10-game road trip in a jolly state of mind.
