MONONA -- There's still time to net live creatures from a pond or catch interesting insects before winter sets in.
The place to do it is at Monona's Aldo Leopold Nature Center, where families can check out a backpack containing nets, a magnifying glass, a bug jar, field guides and several other items useful in exploring the woods, wetlands and prairie.
The Backpack Program, as it's called, begins Nov. 20 and runs the third Sunday of each month at the center, 300 Femrite Drive, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
