In the wake of its high-profile troubles, the New York Stock Exchange seems to be more receptive to buy-side input than it has in the past, according to one buy-side executive at Pace University's securities industry conference on Thursday.
"The NYSE has to save face and re-establish confidence," said Mary McDermott-Holland, SVP of trading at Franklin Portfolio Associates and vice chairwoman of the Security Traders Association, during a panel of buy-side traders at the conference. "The only way they'll do it is to listen to the buy side, because we're their largest customer. I think they're willing."
