- British American Tobacco (M) Bhd (BAT) has recorded a vast improvement in its pre-tax profit for the third quarter ended Sept 30.
- Public Bank Bhd's pre-tax profit jumped 13 per cent to RM1.07bil for the nine months ended Sept 30, 2003, compared with the corresponding period last year on the back of a 15 per cent increase in operating profit to RM1.37bil.
- Prospects look promising for the local banking sector as Malaysia continues charting strong economic growth that will spur lending activities, analysts said.
