ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- According to a recent survey conducted by the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA), travel agents feel that the Department of Transportation (DOT) is failing consumers and business travelers, as well as travel agents themselves. Overall, more than two-thirds of responding travel agents gave the DOT a grade of "D" or "F" when it comes to looking out for consumer interests. The survey also indicates widespread and strongly held opposition to DOT policies regarding travel distribution through Computer Reservation Systems (CRS).
