For Consolidated Bank & Trust Co., this hasn't been the ideal year for celebrating a centennial.
Losses at the Richmond-based community bank have continued to swell. State and federal regulators have imposed more stringent demands on its board of directors. Last week, the bank's chief executive officer and chief financial officer resigned.
Efforts to restore Consolidated to profitability and financial soundness have been slow to generate results, Sid H. Credle, who joined the bank's board last June to help with the turnaround, said Tuesday.
