Oct. 30--Union Station officials are embarking on an ambitious fund-raising strategy to "change the entire character" of its Science City museum and to avoid more multimillion-dollar deficits.
The station's board of directors on Wednesday approved a new five-year financial plan. It includes a $12.5 million short-term loan program relying on a novel fund-raising tool, a charitable investment trust. The plan also includes asking voters for more public funding, probably next year.
