The Boeing Co. submitted to the Air Force on Wednesday a 7,000-page bid - in 32 cartons - that it hopes will lead to hundreds of 767 air-refueling tankers being built in Everett.
A Boeing executive said the tanker program would support about 9,000 jobs in Washington state and contribute about $400 million a year to the state's economy. The job numbers include Boeing 767 commercial airplane workers in Everett as well as jobs with 767 suppliers in Washington.
The Air Force is expected to announce the tanker winner in the fall, probably in October.
