Oct. 29--The nationwide search will continue, but for the next year Jim Ruth can remove the word "interim" from his title as county executive officer.
The former Anaheim city manager was unanimously approved Tuesday by Orange County supervisors for an additional 12 months. Ruth, 67, came out of retirement in January to steer county government through a tough budget process after the firing of the previous CEO.
