For a while there, it seemed too good to be true.
Could Ryan Franklin, the ultimate hard-luck pitcher, the man with the worst run support in the majors and a 16-start winless streak, actually beat Curt Schilling and the Red Sox?
Nope. The Seattle right-hander hung with the winningest pitcher in the majors for the first few innings, but was ultimately undone by a familiar combination - pesky solo homers and a big inning - as Boston romped to a 13-2 victory at Safeco Field.
