HOLLYWOOD _ Actress Portia de Rossi flies from one passionate project to the next _ sometimes literally. The dishy lawyer with the long, blonde hair who decorated the firm on "Ally McBeal," flies helicopters.
"I had about 60 hours in an R-22, which was amazing and fun but I stopped doing it for the time being because I got scared, and that's the honest truth," she says in a noisy press room office at a hotel here.
"I love it. It's exhilarating and thrilling, but I am now good enough to get my private pilot's license. It's in the family. My brother actually owns a helicopter company in Long Beach."
