NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 4, 2003

MetLife, Inc. (NYSE: MET) announced today that Metropolitan Life Insurance Company completed its acquisition of John Hancock Life Insurance Company's group life insurance business, following regulatory approval. The companies announced the transaction on June 23, 2003.
