Nov. 5--Scripps fever has spread to Riviera Beach, where Mayor Michael Brown is now courting the biomedical research center.
The Scripps Research Institute, the mayor says, fits nicely with the city's waterfront redevelopment plan. He envisions the institute having a marine medical research center in the city and using a proposed conference center and hotel to recruit job candidates. The city's planned aquarium, he says, could be a perfect match with the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, which shares a family name and benefactor with the research institute, but is ...
