The Marquette Golden Eagles finally may feel at home in the expanded Big East.
The school has been in the Midwestern Collegiate, the Great Midwest and Conference USA since its heyday as an independent.
Tuesday's announcement was met with celebration at the Milwaukee campus.
"I think psychologically, for all of us at Marquette, this is home," athletic director Bill Cords said. "We've been in three different conferences but none of those were really home.
"The Big East is home to us because of the makeup of the institutions, and we're glad to be there."
