WITHIN A FEW SQUARE BLOCKS OF THE BEST Western Hotel in Madison, Wisconsin, there are dozens of places to indulge in deep-dish pizza, blueberry pancakes, and the mega-butterfat ice cream for which the dairy state is known. None of these culinary delights has made its way to the hotel's second-floor meeting room, where the annual conference of the Calorie Restriction Society (CR Society) is taking place.
