The story: Bighorn sheep were being hit by traffic as they wandered onto Interstate 70 near Georgetown.
The challenge: Securing a picture to illustrate it by getting above an animal that makes its living by climbing to dizzying heights to outdistance its predators and shooting down on the sheep while getting the highway in the background.
The solution: Call on an old pro, Bob Hernbrode, former game warden, biologist and watchable wildlife coordinator for the Colorado Division of Wildlife.
