A state lawmaker says she isn't giving up the fight for a law urging hospitals to give rape victims information about emergency contraception.
Rep. Betty Boyd, D-Lakewood, lost the battle for such a law earlier this year but announced that she plans to introduce the bill again in the 2004 session.
``I think it's a critically important issue,'' Boyd said. ``Women who are raped have enough trauma to deal with as a result of their rape, and also have to deal with the fear of pregnancy, not having information on the strategy that is available to them to prevent pregnancy.''
