Nov. 8--Looking to warn Illinois officials away from the importation of drugs, the Food and Drug Administration said yesterday that it is working with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police on an undisclosed number of cases of prescription drug counterfeiting in Canada.
The disclosure appeared in a lengthy letter from the FDA rebutting a report commissioned by Governor Rod Blagojevich of Illinois. That report said Illinois could safely import drugs from Canada for its state work force and retirees and save up to $91 million a year. The report also found that counterfeiting ...
