The passenger rail service between Everett and Seattle will in effect triple, beginning Oct. 1, as a result of an agreement announced yesterday between Sound Transit and Amtrak.
Under the new RailPlus program, commuters will be able to use any Amtrak Cascade ticket, PugetPass, FlexPass or UPass on weekday Amtrak Cascades trains as well as on Sounder trains.
The new program means that Sounder commuters traveling between Everett and Seattle will no longer be limited to one round-trip train a day into and out of Seattle.
