The temps are dippin', daylight is slippin' and the snowmaking machines are flippin' out snow at ski hills and resorts across Minnesota.
From Welch Village in the south to Giants Ridge in the north, ski resorts are revving up artificial snowmakers, polishing chairlifts and peddling season passes in anticipation of a strong and lucrative ski and snowboarding season.
In the metro area, Afton Alps opened Thursday. Buck Hill opens today.
Up north, destination resorts such as Giants Ridge in Biwabik and Lutsen on the North Shore of Lake Superior, where several inches of snow has already fallen, are ...
