Continuing the turnaround started last quarter, the Bay Area Business Confidence Index climbed another five notches higher into positive territory, from 55 to 60, solidifying the prospect of sustained economic recovery in the Bay Area(1). The gain was driven primarily by an improvement in current Bay Area economic conditions -- a component of the Index that has jumped an impressive 20 points in six months. Business leaders also expressed increasing confidence about the outlook for the next six months.
