Agents of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) raided anew yesterday the more than 1,400 business establishments along the long stretch of EDSA in the cities of Makati and Pasay to verify their compliance of tax rules and regulations.
At presstime, Makati Revenue Regional Director Anselmo Adriano could not yet give the exact number of stores apprehended as his fieldmen were still tabulating the results of the day-long tax mapping operation.
Adriano, however, informed BIR Commissioner Guillermo Parayno Jr. that they expected fewer apprehensions this time as the stores were previously visited once or twice already and wherein ...
