Landstown did what no middle school has been able to do in the past five years. The Lancers beat Larkspur 90-56 for the girls' city track championship last Saturday at Landstown High School.
The Larkspur dynasty was put in jeopardy late in the season when Landstown handed the Lions their first dual-meet loss in seven years.
"It's not that we did anything different," Larkspur coach Ed McClendon said. "My kids are running their personal bests. But Landstown has some serious sprinters."
Those serious sprinters are eighth-graders Olivia Hutchins, Kelneisha Hinnant and Leah Brown, who finished first, second ...
