The first radio reporter to provide daily coverage from the Illinois Capitol Building died Monday.
Bill Miller, 80, died among family at his home in The Woodlands, Texas after a six-year battle against cancer.
Journalists throughout Illinois mourned Miller's death as the personal loss of a friend and the professional loss of a pioneer.
Miller's career spanned 44 years. He spent the first 25 years as a radio reporter, getting his first taste of the microphone in Gregory Hall at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
