The Asian gang member accused of killing 18-year-old Garry McLaughlin told police he fired shots at McLaughlin's house after he and other gang members were chased away from a house party.
Details of the case emerged Thursday at the preliminary hearing for Patrick Suchaiya, 19, a member of the Asian Pride street gang who is charged with first-degree murder in McLaughlin's death. The hearing resumes today.
The Jefferson County Court hearing was packed with family and friends who wore bracelets with McLaughlin's photo on them. Red roses lined the bar separating the spectator section from the rest of the courtroom.
