The Asian gang member accused of killing 18-year-old Garry McLaughlin told police he fired shots at McLaughlin's house after he and other gang members were chased away from a house party.

Details of the case emerged Thursday at the preliminary hearing for Patrick Suchaiya, 19, a member of the Asian Pride street gang who is charged with first-degree murder in McLaughlin's death. The hearing resumes today.
