FINLAND's railway is gradually coming up to speed in the most literal sense, with improvements underway to reduce journey times through a combination of new line construction, track upgrading, and new rolling stock. Even though the pace of change is relatively slow, the government and the railway industry believe that the country's long-term rail strategy will eventually reap rewards.
