SHANGHAI, Nov 13 Asia Pulse China's stainless steel market will change the current pattern of importing 70 per cent of its consumption to the pattern of having 70 per cent of the consumption domestically supplied in the next few years.
China has become the world's largest stainless steel consumer starting from 2001. Due to large gap between domestic production and consumption, China's import of the products is growing year by year. The apparent consumption was 3.2 million tons in 2002, while the domestic output was only 1.146 million tons, and import in the year reached 2.43 million tons, accounting for 75 per cent of the domestic consumption and for 25 per cent ...
