THE NELSON DESIGN GROUP LLC took a leap of faith when it moved from Fayetteville to Jonesboro in 1998 to break into the national home design market.
The move seems to have paid off, as the home design firm has grown from selling virtually no plans in 1998 to nearly 11,000 in 2002.
Nelson declined to release revenue figures, but a stock home plan costs between $550-$600.
But it always hasn't been smooth ride for Nelson. In 2001, the firm was sued by a South Carolina architectural firm that accused it of copying its house designs.
