Scan the list of Mariners batting average leaders and you have to go for a while until you get to Adrian Beltre. Even longer before reaching Richie Sexson.
But when you start looking at the RBIs list, your eyes will stop at the top. Heading into their game tonight against the White Sox at Safeco Field, Beltre leads the team with 15. Sexson is second with 13.
Beltre is batting .244. Sexson is at .145. Those averages are hardly the stuff of legend. Even the RBI totals can't mask that.
