Casey Clausen thought last year would be the best of his life. It turned out to be the most trying.
The Alemany High of Mission Hills product was coming off the best game of his college career, quarterbacking Tennessee to a Citrus Bowl victory over Michigan. He passed for 393 yards and scored five touchdowns (three passing, two rushing) to cap his sophomore season with a 45-10 blowout on national television.
His confidence was at an all-time high and his name was atop several preseason lists of Heisman Trophy favorites.
