2003 NOV 24 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Cytosine methylation enhances AFB1-induced guanine mutations at CpG sites.
According to a study from the People's Republic of China, "The tumor suppressor gene p53 is commonly mutated with high frequencies at certain hot spots in human cancers.
"In liver cancers there is an especially high frequency of mutations at codon 249," wrote K.T. Chan and colleagues, Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, Department of Biology.
