Few studies have evaluated the reading performance of adults with a childhood diagnosis of dyslexia (CD). In those studies available, however, the general finding is that adults with CD continue to experience persistent deficits in single-word recognition (Ben-Dror, Pollatsek, & Scarpati, 1991; Booth, Perfetti, MacWhinney, & Hunt, 2000; Bruck, 1992; Lefly & Pennington, 1991; Leong, 1999; Maughan, 1995).
