2003 DEC 1 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- The LeJour vertical mammoplasty pattern for skin-sparing mastectomy. According to recent research published in the journal Annals of Plastic Surgery, "An application of the LeJour vertical mammoplasty skin pattern for skin-sparing mastectomy is presented.
"The approach provides adequate access for the mastectomy, axillary dissection, and immediate breast reconstruction. The technique is ideal for patients with large or ptotic breasts undergoing a simultaneous contralateral breast reduction or mastopexy," wrote C.M. Malata and colleagues, Addenbrookes Hospital, Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery.
