SEOUL, Nov. 25 (Yonhap) -- Amway Korea Co. posted sales in excess of 1.17 trillion won (US$969.9 million) last year and controlled 30.8 percent of South Korea's multilevel marketing business, the Fair Trade Commission said Tuesday.The U.S. company, which began domestic sales in 1991, also accounted for 20 percent of all sales personnel.

The state regulator said the 3.8-trillion-won local market had 5.93 million members, which means that 17 out of 100 adult South Koreans sold or bought products through 82 multilevel marketing businesses in operation. The ...
