NAWAZ SHARIF, die prime minister of Pakistan, is beginning to look like a hunted man. Labour unrest has upset his economic reforms. Businessmen are up in arms about new taxes. Inflation is alienating the middle classes. Foreign investors have been frightened off by the kidnapping of foreigners in Sind province. Indeed, a recent rash of bomb attacks, bank robberies, kidnappings and murders has prompted the leaders of 16 political parties to call on Pakistan's president to turf Mr Sharif out.
