The government is committed to its deficit reduction program in spite the change in leadership at the Department of Finance with Juanita D. Amatong taking the reign, on an officer-incharge capacity, from resigned Secretary Jose Isidro N. Camacho yesterday.
In a simple turnover ceremony yesterday at the Department of Finance, Amatong, the first woman ever to head the DoF, shared with her colleagues the commitment to the deficit reduction program to bring the government's finances back on track by 2009.
