If forced to buy rather than lease the majority of new refueling tankers the Air Force needs, the service may consider delaying or canceling some new acquisition programs, such as the Multi-Sensor Command and Control (MC2A) aircraft, according to the Air Force's top acquisition official.

Buying rather than leasing 80 of the 100 Boeing [BA] KC-767 tankers the Air Force wants for its aerial refueling fleet would force the service to start looking at canceling some new procurement programs now, according to Marvin Sambur, the assistant secretary of the Air Force for acquisition.
