India's Orchid Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals has begun supplying active pharmaceutical ingredients to its joint venture partner in China. The venture, called NCPC Orchid Pharmaceuticals, was established last year with North China Pharmaceutical Corporation.
The JV is a 50-50 business share and began commercial production in India in September this year. Since then, Orchid has exported ingredients worth $2 million to NCPC which, for its part, converts them into formulations and sells them on the local market.
