SUMMERS spent building sandcastles on some of the most loved beaches in Wales could become a distant memory, a new guide warns today.
The 2004 edition of the Good Britain Guide, read by hundreds of thousands of potential visitors to the UK, lists Rhossili and Oxwich on Gower as two of Britain's most endangered stretches of sand.
Guide editor Alisdair Aird cites storms and rising sea level caused by global warming as the main causes of the threat to traditional beaches.
